Mr Marmalade is an outrageous and provocative black comedy that explores adult behaviour through the eyes of two very imaginative children.

Lucy is a 4-year-old girl with a very active imagination. Unfortunately, her imaginary friend Mr Marmalade doesn’t have much time for her. Not to mention he beats up his personal assistant, has a cocaine addiction and a penchant for pornography. Larry, her new real-life friend, has problems of his own and is the youngest suicide attempt in the history of the city.

Mr Marmalade is an hilarious and often disturbing look at how the observations of children influence their imagination and views of the adult world. Family, sex, abuse and power are given a 'child’s play’ treatment in this funny and thought-provoking comedy.

Mr Marmalade
was a production with Bachelor of Theatre students from CQUniversity (Mackay) at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
