REVIEWS

“A wonderfully colourful black comedy… The play looks at materialism, compassion and relationships in a time of political turmoil… It’s raw, so very real and gives an uncanny representation of people we all encounter at some time or another in our lives….A great drama to be viewed and thoroughly enjoyed” – Arts Hub

“Very robust and resilient performances across the board. Very well-directed. A compelling script. The Carnivores is a skilful dissection & investigation of the human condition and the relentless quest which defines it. You'll be well-satisfied and well-nourished; still an experience all too-rare in Sydney theatre.” – Australian Stage Online

SYNOPSIS

It's a hungry world where more is never enough.

Brothers Thom and Gramme are small players in the ethical murkiness of global capitalism, both up-market and black-market. As they grapple with family loyalty, rapacious multinationals, sexual opportunism and drug deals, they must also confront a wider world in the grip of political turmoil.

The Carnivores is an urban black comedy that peels back the surface of contemporary life to consider what humanity really means.
